1. Not much distance

Yelagiri is just a 3-hour drive from Bangalore. You can ride a bike to Yelagiri, through the picturesque Hosur-Krishnagiri route. The ride passes through scenic views of mountains on both sides, and the weather is very pleasant and cool. You can also stop at different scenic places on the way like Vaniyambadi, Shoolagiri, to click pictures in the green hilly background.

 

2. Enjoy peaceful walks and boating

The untouched hill station of Yelagiri has clean streets and lots of greenery around. The best way to appreciate the beauty of Yelagiri is to take a stroll or enjoy boating. Explore places like the Nature Park, spread over 12 acres with walkways on all sides. The manicured garden is one of the main attractions here. It is a perfect destination for flower lovers. It houses a small park, aquarium, and a lake.

The manmade Punganur Lake in Yelagiri is a good picnic spot. There is a children’s park, a treetop viewpoint, and a few shops here, making it an ideal spot for families.

Plan a trek with your friends or colleagues for the weekend. Yelagiri has Tnumerous trekking trails, like Swamimalai, Jalagamparai, Puthur, and Perumadu. The most popular spot for trekkers here is the Swamimalai trek, which is 4,338 feet high and will take you through the Mangalam village. Swamimalai Hill is the highest point in Yelagiri from where explorers can appreciate sweeping views of Yelagiri.

 

4. Indulge in adventure sports

For those who love to experience an adrenaline rush, there are adventure sports such as rock climbing, ATV rides, bungee trampoline, and paragliding organized by various resorts or local agencies here. Almost all resorts in Yelagiri arrange customized adventure tour packages for tourists.

The YASA (Yelagiri Association of Adventure Sports) also gives coaching classes for adventure sports. The paragliding club here hosts an international paragliding fest in September.
